Dr. Plank Bio
I was born and raised in gorgeous Colorado. I received my bachelor’s degree at CU Boulder in Molecular Cellular Developmental Biology with a Biochemistry minor. I also received a certificate from the Peace and Justice department for completing the INVST program, a two-year social action social change program at CU. I earned my Naturopathic Doctorate (ND) and Masters of Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from the National University of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland Oregon. NUNM is the oldest accredited Naturopathic Medical School in the country.
While still in school at Boulder, I obtained my Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license. I was involved in emergent care at both Denver General (now Denver Health) and Lennox Hill emergency rooms. Additionally, I was a volunteer EMT with both American and Israeli ambulance services. I worked with Boulder County Safe-house for two years as a victim advocate. After graduating from CU Boulder I spent the next three years working with adolescents involved with the criminal justice system. I have also had the joy of teaching Anatomy & Physiology at Ashmead school of massage and Portland Community College.
During my medical school training in Portland, I specialized in classical homeopathy, Western herbs, UNDA drainage, and five element acupuncture. I completed the NESH 2 year homeopathy course with Drs. Herscu and Rothenberg. Additionally, I attended over 500+ hours of additional homeopathic, UNDA drainage, and herbal coursework. I completed a two-year-long mentor-ship with David Berkshire and David Ford in five element acupuncture. For the last decade, I have been focusing on complementary cancer care and treatment of auto-immune conditions.
My husband and I moved back to Colorado in May 2010, and I opened the Colorado location of Sunny Day Health in August of that year. We started Our Village Healing Center, a community resource for patients with cancer and their caregivers. I also served as secretary on the board of the Colorado Association of Naturopathic Doctors. During our time in Colorado our family grew to include two incredibly sweet and lively sons Eliam and Shalev.
